VCU to celebrate May commencement on Saturday

Virginia Commonwealth University will celebrate May commencement on Saturday.
VCU will hold the universitywide ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. Third St. The university also will host an assortment of in-person graduation ceremonies at the department, school and college levels. VCU has more than 4,900 total graduates this spring representing 47 countries. The university’s more than 3,100 undergraduates include more than 1,000 first-generation graduates.
Everette Taylor, the CEO of Kickstarter and a Richmond native, will deliver the commencement keynote address.
The universitywide commencement broadcast will stream at vcu.edu. For more details about commencement, visit commencement.vcu.edu. Doors will open for guests for the universitywide ceremony at 8:30 a.m. No tickets are required.
Media interested in covering commencement must RSVP by emailing vcunews@vcu.edu by 5 p.m. Friday, May 9. Reporters will be provided media credentials upon arrival at the convention center after passing through security screening. Proof of media affiliation is required to receive credentials. Limited media parking will be available.
