DEL CORE WINS SECOND STRAIGHT A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR
Freshman from Italy averaged 4.30 kills per set in three wins
RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman outside hitter Lara Del Core (Busto Arsizio, Italy) collected her second straight Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week honor Monday, the league announced.
Del Core averaged 4.30 kills and 0.50 blocks per set, while hitting .369, as VCU racked up three straight victories to run its win streak to 10 matches.
A 6-foot-2 native of Italy, Del Core ripped 15 kills on two occasions, including the Rams' 3-0 sweep of Davidson on Oct. 29. Del Core hit .520 in that contest on 25 swings. She registered 13 and 15 kills on Friday and Saturday, respectively, in wins over Rhode Island.
VCU and Del Core return to the floor on Friday, Nov. 8 at Duquesne.
