The Short Story: In the first of two matches down in Georgia, the Rams overcame Georgia State, winning 4-2 on Friday afternoon

Opening Serve

  • VCU took the first doubles match on court two, with the pairing of Nicolo Consonni and Gevorg Mnatsakanyan winning 6-2. After dropping the doubles match on court three, German Samofalov and Erwann Bouchet clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court one
  • The Rams grabbed the first singles point as Kostiantyn Mantach made it 2-0 Rams with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court five
  • After Georgia State tied it up at 2-2, Alfred Amasi would give VCU 3-2 and notch his fourth straight singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 on court five
  • Erwann Bouchet would win the match for the Black and Gold with his 6-4, 6-4 win on court four
