Eight Rams are back on the diamond in MLB and MiLB play

RICHMOND, Va. – With Minor League Baseball clubs officially beginning their 2025 schedules in April, seven former Rams joined the Miami Marlins' Connor Gillispie back in action on the diamond this month with MLB affiliated clubs.

Gillispie appeared on the Marlins' 2025 Opening Day roster, while other VCU baseball alums saw upward movement in the minor leagues in the off-season.

Vimael Machín was assigned to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides after signing a professional contract with the Baltimore Orioles in November and Sam Ryan joined the High-A Tri-City Dust Devils following his inking of a minor league contract with the Los Angles Angels in January. Paul Witt (Rochester Red Wings) and Brandon Eike (Everett Aquasox) were elevated to Triple-A and High-A clubs, respectively, and Christian Gordon (Myrtle Beach Pelicans) made his professional debut in Single-A.

Tyler Locklear began his season with the Tacoma Raniers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, and Danny Watson is in Somerset with the New York Yankees' Double-A Patriots. More in the Rams in the Pros roundup:
