LARA DEL CORE NAMED A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman averaged 3.50 kills per set in two wins
RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman outside hitter Lara Del Core (Busto Arsizio, Italy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The 6-foot-2 Del Core averaged 3.50 kills and 1.50 digs per set, while hitting .425 in a pair of VCU wins over George Washington over the weekend. She blasted a career-high 18 kills in Saturday's sweep of the Revolutionaries. Del Core hit .469 in 32 swings in that contest.
Monday's honor is the first A-10 weekly award of Del Core's collegiate career.
Del Core and the Rams will put their seven-match win streak on the line on Tuesday, Oct. 29 when they host Davidson at 5 p.m. at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
