RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball had two student-athletes earn All-Atlantic 10 honors as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
 
Mary-Anna Asare earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors as well as being named to the All-Academic Team. Mykel Parham earned All-Defensive Team honors for the second consecutive season.
 
Asare earned the honor after averaging a team-high 15.9 points per game while scoring in double figures in 24 of 29 games played this season. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game during the regular season. In A-10 play, Asare's average climbed to 16.5 points per game. She ranks fifth in the A-10 in points per game and 19th in field goal percentage. Asare ranked 89th nationally in 3-point percentage at 36.9 percent. Asare was named to the All-Academic Team as a double major in criminal justice and psychology. She has been named to the Dean's List and AD Honor Roll every semester at VCU. 
 
Parham earns the All-Defensive Team nod as she is ranked 15th nationally and second in the A-10 in rebounds per game with 10.5. She ranked second in the A-10 in blocks per game with 1.4 and led the league in total blocks with 42. Parham started all 30 games for VCU during the regular season and averaged 4.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Parham helped VCU rank 27^th nationally in scoring defense, 23^rd in field goal percentage defense and 37^th in 3-point percentage defense.
 
VCU is set to face La Salle in the Atlantic 10 First Round on Wednesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. at the Henrico Sports & Events Center. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
