HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams took an 8-3 lead with 8:38 left in the first quarter behind two 3-pointers from Asare
- VCU maintained its lead at 16-11 at the end of the first quarter
- La Salle outscored VCU 12-4 in the second quarter as the Rams' offense struggled and the Explorers led 23-20 at halftime
- VCU found an offensive rhythm in the third quarter, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor in the third quarter but trailed La Salle 36-35 heading into the fourt
- The Rams and Explorers traded the lead six times in the fourth quarter with three lead changes
- VCU took a 48-46 lead with 42 seconds after two Asare free throws but La Salle tied the game at 48-48 with 37 seconds left
- The Rams had two chances to go ahead, missing two layups in the last two seconds. The Explorers got the ball back and scored with 0.2 seconds remaining on a layup from Ashleigh Connor
