NDIAYE NAMED VASID DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Ndiaye tabbed best defender in the Commonwealth

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU men's soccer defender Moussa Ndiaye was named Virginia's best defender of the 2024 season, earning the VaSID Defensive Player of the Year title following his junior season, the organization announced in January.
 
During the season, the Dakar, Senegal, native was ranked by Top Drawer Soccer as one of the top 100 players in the nation, reaching as high as No. 50 at the midseason mark.
 
In 2024, Ndiaye was the only defender to start every match for the Black and Gold, tallying 1520 minutes of action, which was the second most of among any player. In the final game of the season, he scored his first goal of the year on the A-10 regular season champion George Mason.
 
In the Rams' first 10 matches, the back line limited opponents to one or fewer goals in nine contests. This included a pair of shutouts over nationally ranked No. 15 Penn and RV Rhode Island. Throughout the season, Ndiaye played a full 90 in all but one match.

 Ndiaye was a first-team Atlantic 10 All-Conference player as a sophomore in 2023, helping guide the Rams to their A-10 Regular Season Title.
