SIX RAMS EARN ALL-ATLANTIC 10 HONORS

Morena Macera headlined the group as an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection

WASHINGTON, D.C. – VCU Field Hockey had six student-athletes earn All-Atlantic 10 honors as announced by the conference on Friday.
 
Morena Macera earned All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors while Ella Fehr was named to both the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and All-Rookie Team. Lotje Aalderink and Ana Afonso were also named to the All-Rookie Team. Ava Radel and Luisa Fasold were named to the All-Academic Team.
 
Macera, a junior from Buenos Aires, Argentina, earned the All-Atlantic 10 First Team choice for the second consecutive season. Macera led the team in total points with 22 and assists with six while ranking second on the team in goals with eight. Macera scored three game-winning goals on the season and led the team with 46 shot attempts.
 
Fehr, a freshman from Berlin, Germany, led the Rams with nine goals scored and had one assist. Fehr scored two game-winning goals and ranked second on the team in shots with 43. She was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week twice this season.
 
Afonso, a freshman from Cordoba, Argentina, scored one goal and added five assists for the Rams. She played a key role in VCU's defense and was joined on the All-Rookie Team by fellow defender Aalderink, a freshman from Osterbeek, Netherlands. Aalderink started all 18 games for and recorded one assist.
 
Radel was named to the All-Academic Team. Radel is majoring in finance and has been named to the VCU's Dean's List, AD Honor Roll, NFHCA Scholar of Distinction, NFHCA All-Academic Squad and a VCU Dean's Scholar. Radel started every game for VCU this season and scored two goals with five assists.

Fasold joined Radel on the All-Academic Team and is a member of the honors program at VCU. Fasold has been named to the VCU's Dean List, the AD Honor Roll, NFHCA National Academic Squad and an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. Fasold scored seven goals and had three assists on the season while starting every game.
