The Short Story: The Rams used a comeback effort after dropping the doubles point to beat Richmond 4-2 on Friday night to move to the Atlantic Ten Men's Tennis Championship finals

Opening Serve

  • After the Rams took the first doubles match on court one, Richmond would take the doubles matches on courts two and three to take the doubles point
  • Senior German Samofalov captured the Rams first point with his two-set win on court one.
  • The Spiders retook the lead and made it 2-1 with a win on court two.
  • The Black and Gold would tie the match at 2-2 with a 6-4, 6-3 win by Freshman Leon Zaorski on court six.
  • Kostiantyn Mantach grabbed a three-set win on court five to keep the Rams rolling and make it 3-2
  • Alfred Almasi clinched the match for VCU with his win on court four, which saw him win the last two sets
