WOMEN’S SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2025 SLATE

Rams will debut on Aug. 2 in exhibition vs. USL Super League's Power FC

RICHMOND, Va. –VCU Women's Soccer and first-year head coach Lauryn Hutchinson announced the 2025 schedule, featuring 19 in-season matches, including 10 opportunities to see the Rams in action at Sports Backers Stadium.
 
Four of the Rams' opponents made appearances in last season's NCAA Tournament, including Virginia Tech, a 2024 NCAA Quarterfinalist, and Virginia, who returns to the schedule from VCU's 2024 non-conference slate.
 
The Atlantic 10 schedule consists of 10 matches with five home and five on the road. The Rams look to make it back to the conference tournament for the fifth consecutive year
 
VCU is set to hit the pitch for the first time in 2025 with a home exhibition match against the USL Super League's Power FC, formerly DC Power, on August 2 at Sports Backers Stadium. The Rams will host the professional club in an exciting contest, welcoming back alumni and current Power FC players Carleigh Frilles, Anna Bagley and Susanna Fitch. Alumni looking to attending the match can stay tuned for additional ticketing and gameday information.
 
The Rams open their regular season schedule at Sports Backers Stadium on August 14 against Elon, as Hutchinson, along with assistant coaches Matt Freibaum and Mario Sequeira Quesada, make their Rams coaching debuts, all returning to VCU as former players.
 
Hitting the road for the first pair of away matches, VCU will face 2024 NCAA Tournament Quarterfinalist Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday, August 17, before heading to the nation's capital to take on American on August 21.
 
East Carolina returns to VCU for the first time since 2022 on August 24 and non-conference play closes out the month in Baltimore, Md., with a faceoff against Loyola Maryland on August 28.
 
Back-to-back home games on Sept. 4 and 7 against Navy and Old Dominion, respectively, will kick off the month of September, before the Rams hit the road for an in-state showdown at Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., on Sept. 14.
 
Concluding the non-conference portion of their schedule, VCU will play host to the ACC's Miami on Sept. 18.
 
The Rams will open conference play on Sept. 21 at St. Bonaventure before hosting a pair of home matches against Saint Louis and Saint Jospeh's on Sept. 25 and 28, respectively.
 
Opening the final month of the regular season, VCU will appear in Pittsburgh, Pa., against Duquesne on Oct. 2 and return home for a rematch of last year's A-10 tournament opener against Dayton on Sunday, Oct. 5.
 
At George Mason on Oct. 11, the Rams will play their lone in-season Saturday match in Fairfax, Va., before hosting cross-town rival Richmond at Sports Backers Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 16.
 
On Oct. 19, VCU kicks off its final regular season week on the road, taking on Loyola Chicago, in Illinois, and continuing Philadelphia, Pa., to face off with La Salle on Oct. 23.
 
VCU will host Davidson at noon on Sunday, Oct. 26 for the regular season finale at Sports Backers Stadium.
