The Short Story: The Rams clinched a close doubles point and strong singles performances to propel themselves past Rhode Island, 4-1, on Friday morning to advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals

• VCU captured a competitive doubles point that saw all three matches go to tiebreakers. Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando and Mariam Ibrahim took the doubles match on court one, and Lea Malazdra and Sofia Jane Thorne took the match on court two.
• Rhode Island tied the match at 1-1 with a win on court one, but Sophomore Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando gave the Black and Gold a 2-1 lead shortly after with her 6-0, 6-1 win on court two.
