RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Odom has been named a finalist for the 2024-25 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award.
 
The award is given annually to the Division I coach who wins with integrity on and off the court. The Skip Prosser Man of the Year award honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court, but who display moral integrity on and off it as well.
 
Odom, in his second year in charge of the VCU program, has led the Rams to a 25-5 record, including 15-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. VCU has clinched at least a share of the A-10 regular season title, as well as the league's No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming tournament championship. The Black and Gold are currently ranked No. 25 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 Poll.
 
Prosser, whose standout career included notable tenures at both Wake Forest and Xavier passed away of an apparent heart attack on July 26, 2007.
 
In his six seasons at Wake Forest, the Demon Deacons averaged 21 wins per season, and he became the third-fastest to reach 100 victories at an ACC school. The 2003 ACC Coach of the Year, Prosser led a Wake Forest squad spearheaded by future NBA stars Chris Paul and Josh Howard to the first No. 1 ranking in school history.
 
The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com.

The 2025 award will be announced in San Antonio, TX, site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
