ISHPREEN MARWAH JOINS VCU WOMEN’S SOCCER
RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Soccer and first-year head coach Lauryn Hutchinson announced the addition of defender Ishpreen Marwah to the squad ahead of the 2025 season.
Marwah hails from Tampa, Fla., and will arrive at VCU after spending her first two seasons in Southern Mississippi's back line.
"I chose VCU because it's the right environment to compete, grow, and reach our goals. I'm hungry to keep raising the standard, and the program has the drive from the coaches, the culture, and the team," Marwah said. "[I'm proud to represent black and gold! The work begins now."
A staple of the Golden Eagles' defense last year, Marwah started all 15 matches and compiled over 1200 minutes of work on the field, one of just five athletes to hit both of those marks. She played a full 90 in 10 contests over the course of the season, including each of the team's final nine matches.
In Southern Miss' final match of 2024, Marwah recorded a season-high two shots and she posted a shot and shot on goal in a 4-1 Sun Belt victory over Louisiana.
On top of her defensive prowess, Marwah collected accolades for her work in the classroom, earning CSC Academic All-District, Southern Miss President's List and Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List distinctions to celebrate her academic achievements.
A native of the Sunshine State, the incoming junior played at Hillsborough High School in Florida.
Marwah and the Rams will return to action with their first official match of the 2025 season on opening day on August 14. Stay tuned for the release of VCU women's soccer's schedule for the upcoming season.
