Opened in 2012, West Grace Street Student Housing - South serves as a residence hall for upperclassmen (floors 3-5) as well as students participating in the Academic Scholars Program in Real Environments (floors 1-2). ASPiRE is an innovative and comprehensive community engagement-focused living-learning program for sophomores at VCU.

The LEED-certified building offers 112 fully furnished apartments, each sleeping four students in either two or four bedrooms. Every apartment includes connections for Internet and cable, a washer and dryer, a full kitchen and two bathrooms. Building features include 24-hour security, access to parking, two outdoor courtyards with seating, and study lounges and community rooms on every floor.

Administrative offices, faculty offices and classrooms for ASPiRE are located on the first floor of the building.
