MATSUHISA GARNERS A-10 ALL-CONFERENCE, ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – VCU women's soccer senior Kanna Matsuhisa concluded her four-year career on the field Friday, but she wasn't finished just yet, as she added a pair of conference postseason honors to her resume.
The midfielder was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and selected to the All-Academic team following her final campaign, the league announced Wednesday.
Matsuhisa earns her second career Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, after being named to the second team in 2022.
She had a phenomenal final year in Black and Gold, leading the team with a career-best 7 goals and 15 points, while stretching her streak of starting every match through a third consecutive year.
A high-impact offensive force, three of Matsuhisa's goals were game-winners and another produced a tied score. She'll close out her Rams career having amassed 39 points from 14 goals and 11 assists, while recording over 4,800 minutes of action.
The Tokyo, Japan, native paired her on-field dominance with a classroom performance to match, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and picking up a second postseason honor on the All-Academic Team.
