RAMS FALL TO HAWKS ON SENIOR DAY

The Rams honored their seven seniors pregame

Score: Saint Joseph's 19, VCU 9

The short story:  VCU and Saint Joseph's were tied 2-2 at the end of the first quarter but five unanswered goals in the second half from the Hawks allowed them to pull away for the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • VCU took a 2-0 lead with 12:07 left in the first quarter following a goal from Molly Metz
  • The Hawks tied the game at 2-2 after back-to-back goals from Emma Yoder
  • VCU took a 3-2 lead with 14:06 left in the second quarter on a goal from Rachel Koeneke
  • Saint Joseph's then scored six of the next seven goals to build an 8-4 lead at halftime
  • The Rams were unable to overcome the deficit as the Hawks pulled away for the win.
