Marcus Acheampong named to A-10 All-Rookie Team for performance in the 60-meter hurdles

Richmond, Va. – Marcus Acheampong has been named to Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team for his accomplishments in the 60-meter hurdles.

Richmond, Va. – Marcus Acheampong has been named to Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team for his accomplishments in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
Acheampong compiled a stellar freshman season, recording the third-best time in VCU history in the 60 hurdles with a mark of 8.02 seconds on Feb. 7 at the Doc Hale Invitational. 
 
His mark of 8.02 seconds was the fastest recorded time across the entire conference this season.
 
He twice earned A-10 weekly awards, winning track performer of week honors once as well as rookie of the week honors. He was awarded A-10 track performer of the week following his first- place finish in the 60 hurdles at the Brant Tolsma Invitational with a time of 8.11 seconds. 
 
Acheampong's A-10 Rookie of the Week honors came on the heels of his performance at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, as he was awarded the honor following his personal best time of 8.02 seconds recorded at the Doc Hale Invitational. 
 
Acheampong also was a part of the silver medal winning 4x400-meter relay at the A-10 Championships.
