VCU PICKS UP 6-1 WIN AGAINST WILLIAM & MARY

Alfred Almasi won his seventh straight singles match in the win

The Short Story: Men's Tennis got off to a hot start in doubles and carried it into singles as they beat William & Mary 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Opening Serve

  • The Rams got the match started by taking the doubles point with wins on court one by Gerrman Samofalov and Kostiantyn Mantach and court three by Leon Zaorski and Alfred Almasi
  • Nicolo Consonni captured the first singles point of the match with a two-set win on court two.
  • Alfred Almasi grabbed his seventh straight singles win with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court three.
  • The Black and Gold would win the dual match with a two-set win by German Samofalov on court one
  • After the match was clinched, Leon Zaorski and Gevorg Mnatsakayan grabbed the last two points on courts five and six, respectively
