VCU DOWNS TEMPLE FOR FIRST WIN OF THE YEAR

Lea Malazdra would clinch the match in comeback fashion

The Short Story: VCU took a hard-fought doubles point and got out to a quick 3-0 lead before staving off a comeback attempt to win 4-2

Opening Serve

  • VCU clinched the doubles point with a win on court 3 by Sofia Jane Thorne/Sara Alba and a tie-breaker win on court one from the pairing of Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando/Andrea Magallanes
  • T. Andrade Sabando picked up where she left off and won her singles match on court one in straight sets 
  • Andrea Magallanes would win on court four to give the Rams a 3-0 lead
  • Temple would win on courts two and three to lessen VCU's lead to 3-2
  • Lea Malazdra would win a second set tiebreaker, after being down 5-0, on court five to clinch the match for the Rams.
